Football Roundup: Broncos Edge Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

During a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 victory over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz provided the late decisive three-pointer to secure the hard-fought win.

Defensive Performance Wins Contest

Despite recording nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed just 82 total net yards throughout the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's 27-yard field goal with approximately five minutes left.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Offense

Despite their horrendous performance, the Jets maintained possession with a chance to score a potential victory. However Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn opted to attempt the conversion rather than calling on specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

Fields had difficulties all game, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York finished with minus-10 passing yards, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"The aerial attack was non-existent," the coach commented after the game.
